New Constellations programmed by  is the first screening of contemporary Iranian video art in Los Angeles. This program highlights artists of Iranian descent living outside of the country. It is culled from an ongoing archive of vibrant new wave video art collected and cataloged by Ghasemi of Parkingallery in Tehran since 2004.
This selection of shorts focuses on artists who work across the globe and contribute as cultural producers in many communities. New Constellations aims to shed light on a generation who seeks to be seen and utilizes the arts to negotiate their place within the changing environment of their current country. These artists constantly respond to and recontextualize their experiences by producing vivid works that deal with” interculturality” and artists’ hybrid lives.
